Elevate your home decor with handcrafted furniture from our custom woodworking shop. Our work is made using high quality live edge slabs, reclaimed barn wood, and sustainable hardwoods sourced here in North Carolina.
Wood Finishes
Finishing a woodworking project can really make or break a piece. After years of experience we’ve developed a beautiful hand rubbed finish that is durable and repairable. We take great caution with our surfaces including using epoxy to fill natural cracks and knots to ensure a high quality piece ready for generations of use.
We specialize in large wood dining tables. Each table is built to suit; including size, seating capacity, wood species, and style. We work with your home design to create live edge slab, trestle, and farmhouse style tables.
Live Edge Slab Wood for Table Tops
Wooden slabs continue to move over a lifetime. Our furniture is engineered to allow for this movement guaranteeing our work to last for generations.
Every slab is not equal. If you buy a slab please be critical of the moisture content, if the seller can’t tell you with confidence, be weary. Those working with green wood are giving the rest of us a bad name. Let us find one for you, we have a nice quality selection of slabs at our shop or try Highland Craftsmen, Oak Hill Iron + Wood, or Resource Woods.

Stirred by the American landscape, Kim’s paintings play with the ideas of disappearance and abstraction among familiar, realistic imagery. Working in graphite and oil, depictions of barns, houses, and farms form with a focus on line quality and believable space.
Visual arts inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains and our country’s rich history in the decorative arts. Continuing the tradition of the WPA artists from the 1930’s and 40’s we create travel posters based on some of our most celebrated areas like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, and the Appalachian Trail. These are painted on reclaimed wood often in large scale with a strong importance on the texture and character of the wood.
Art Exhibit featuring work by Kim and Paul Fuelling of Mabel Studios. Titled ‘Fun & Games’, this show features 10 oil paintings on wood panels, hand-built furniture with hand painted doors, folk art mural on reclaimed wood and wall mural installation by Melina LavDaniels of Common Good Interiors. This collection’s subject matter is a focus on play and having fun. Those things in life that bring us joy and relieve stress; highlighting the importance of goofing off.

We transform these vintage finds into modern updated beauties with custom interiors, hand built furniture and woodworking.
Hired by a talented entrepreneur, we remodeled a 1969 Shasta into Camp Cocktail. The frame off restoration included new paint, wings, custom serving bar with beer tap, sinks, cabinetry, and two large serving windows. The wood is a reclaimed heart pine, a timeless look for a fun vintage trailer.
Hired by a rock climbing guide living seasonally in the desert of Texas we remodeled this vintage camper. Arriving at our shop with a bad paint job done with house paint and a roller, we stripped, ground, and sanded off the paint to reveal its original patina. Hand painted logos and pinstripes created a more finished look. We built custom doors, new kitchenette, bed, closet, and booth which converts to a second bed when needed.
This Airstream was our first camper remodel, built for ourselves as guest accommodations. We added a large comfortable shower, kitchenette, bed, and couch. The crux of the job were the interior walls with all their curves. In the bathroom the walls were built of fiberglass and painted with car paint for a smooth, shiny waterproof surface. The main room has custom fit maple panels making the interior bright and clean.
Our aim in rebuilding this vintage two stroke motorcycle was to simplify and modernize for mountain roads.
